In general external sites are chosen for their stability, in order that links stay in place for a long time (please do let us know if you come across any broken links as we can't check every link regularly). 

News reports here are almost all from UK sources. Occasional overseas stories will be posted here where they are thought to have particular significance for U.K audiences.

Most news pieces concern reports about abuse but we also aim to report on relevant policy, practice and legal issues.

You can use the BBC search box to look for other stories concerning professional abuse. Just click on the link in the box on the right of the screen and a small search box will appear - type in your search words and you will see the results in the BBC News website.
